Blog Tour: World of Weir + Giveaway

Hey guys! You may have noticed from our occasional twitter freak outs that Steph and I are HUUUGE Cinda Williams Chima fans.  As such, Cuddlebuggery is super excited to be a part of the World of Weir Blog Tour celebrating the up-coming release of the sure-to-be-epic conclusion to the Heir Chronicles: The Sorcerer Heir.

For our stop I’ve put together a Wizard playlist. If you’re unfamiliar with the series, the Wizard Guild gets a bit of a bad rap (to be fair, a lot of them have it coming). You know the whole power corrupts thing? Well the wizards are generally considered the most powerful of the guilds and let’s just say in many cases it’s taken its toll. The Wizard Heir tells another side of the story. It centers around Seph McCauley, an orphaned wizard boy who is just starting to learn about his powers and the possibilities and pitfalls they afford.

For my list, I looked for songs about power (duh) but also about isolation, abandonment, growing up and figuring out who you are, all the things Seph (and other characters) face over the course of the story. So without further ado, here’s my playlist for The Warrior Heir. Enjoy!

For other Wizard-y goodies and general Heir Chronicles excitement, make sure you check out the other blogs involved in Wizard Week and the rest of The World Of Weir blog tour.

    PHENOMENAL COSMIC POWERS…..

wait I mean, hmm. Magical powers… I think I’d use them to learn how to Apparate (or whatever the equivalent is in this world.) I’d also like the ability to slow down time so I could read a book for hours but it’s really 5 min in real life. That’d be awesome.

I haven’t tried this series but you know I LOVE the Seven Realms! Sounds like I need to read the Heir Chronicles too 🙂 Thanks for the amazing giveaway.

I guess it depends what the power is, but I would probably go with B. Also, I would get a cool costume.

    (Trying again.)

OMG I was already super excited when I saw you were the one handling the CWC blog tour and then I saw your playlist and was YAAAASSSSSSSSSing even harder. I mean, starting it off with Power is just perfection, because if there was ever anyone to do something mean to the 21st century, it would be kick-ass Cinda Williams Chima characters. Once again you did a fantastic job, Megara.

BAM. Suddenly you have unlimited magical power. Naturally, your first move is to:
    c. Do something weird …Define weird. Kidding! Um, I’d probably make sure that my family and friends would be safe from any harm and happy. I know it sounds lame, but I guess I’m kinda an okay person. Next order of business? A pocket dragon. How rad would that be?

Oh! I love your playlist! Seriously, you have pretty much all of my favorite artists in there.

If I were to have unlimited powers suddenly, I would do something WEIRD. I would teleport to ten different vacationing spots in one day to spend an hour in the sun for each spot! Ten hours of sun, haha!

  6. Kathy Davis

    C. I would teleport to Ireland and have a fun trip, practicing and beginning to master my powers. I would find others like me and start to train but making sure that I always remember who I am and not abuse my power. I would make an awesome wizard creating spells and living life to the fullest!

I’m not a ‘smite thy enemies’ type of person. I’m definitely more of a ‘save all the kittens’ (and every other vulnerable species) type of person! I’d save the world! 🙂

  8. Alicia

I LOVED the Seven Realms novels, but I haven’t had the chance to read the Heir Chronicles yet. I really hope to win the set so that I can read them!! The Seven Realms novels were amazing! What a wonderful author! 🙂

I LOVED the Seven Realm Series! This series is definatly on my to read list. I work in a High School Library and we can’t keep Ms. Chima’s books on the shelves!

If I had unlimited super powers, I would use them to fly. I know that’s kind of a boring answer, but I have always wanted to fly. No, actually, I would want some combination of flying powers along with web shooting powers like Spiderman has. He makes it look like SO MUCH FUN. Then I would fly around the world and learn new languages so that I could experience other cultures. 🙂 Thanks for the giveaway!!!

  10. Kevin

If I had unlimited magical power suddenly I would reshape my life into something that I can be proud of and proceed to help make the world a better place!

  11. erinf1

do something weird… like make bad drivers’ cars break down and one of those floating letters from Harry Potter tells them exactly why 🙂 Thanks for sharing!

  12. Norma

Of course I would like to find something weird to do that would completely annoy and undermine my enemies.

Do something weird: I would def teleport around the world to see my friends in Korea and Japan! As a prank I will pass by them on the road like a regular pedestrian and what them be like; Wait was that Sam??? I prob would do this a couple of days. lol It would be so much fun!!

  14. Melaniipon
    Twitter:

My first move if I had unlimited power would be to teleport back home to visit my friends and family up north, and then my best friends in Texas. It’d be nice to see the people that I have loved for so long.

After that, I would want to give myself some creative energy, allowing me to draw my characters easily and not be so self-conscious about my WIP novel. >>

  15. Katrina

If I suddenly got magical powers I think I would probably start smiting my enemies. It sounds pretty supervillainous, I know, but… Well, it seems the most efficient use of my power. I might go with something weird if I could think of anything. So maybe I won’t turn to supervillainy.

  16. Emily Anne

B! I would save a puppy or whatever. I am primarily focused on the the whatever part. (Whatever being a little innocent one million dollar bill stuck in a tree.) Although I would still save puppies because puppies equal adorableness.

In all seriousness, with magical powers I would love to fly, become invisible, and change appearances. The pranks I could play!

Thanks for the awesome post and giveaway!

I’d love to understand each and every language, so that I can read the original books and not just the translations!

  18. Jenn

Definitely going to go with the smiting my enemies… and then taking over the world because my enemies will be smited ^_^

  19. Camilla

    Unlimited magical powers?!?
Well, nothing else for me to do but something weird!! Ah, I’ll teleport myself to a fantastic get away to the Arctic, and possibly have a cup of cold tea with the artic animals.

  20. Kevin

Hmmm… Smiting all my enemies sound rather delightful….Ahahah I will go for B though – can’t resist those puppies.

  21. Tammy N.

!!! I would 1000000000000% chose to save the puppy from the tree! Poor dog! Ahahaha!
Besides that, I really love your series!
