I loved Paranormalcy so much! I can definitely see where she’s a bit of a Mary Sue but in the end of the trilogy, it’s a lot harder to see! She’s one of my favorite characters because of how fun she is.

(especially the last part about seemingly intelligent people continuing to read the series… why did I finish reading this? I could feel my brain rotting, but I want to see how it ended. At least I borrowed all of them from the local library…)

I don’t under the controversy regarding LeighAnn Kopans. Other than how she only paid $825 for editing AND formatting and packing and distribution! A good copyedit will run you close to that. But I found her blog post refreshing in its honesty and transparency. I like reading how writers approach self-publishing. I was actually surprised to find out she was a self-pubbed because her cover looks AMAZING.

Dan Brown was in People Magazine this week showing off his museum house and OMG his library alone is a world of wonder! I want him to adopt me for his library. If you ever have the chance to hear him speak about his writing and books, you should.I once watched him on CSPAN talk about the process for writing The Da Vinci Code and it was fascinating. He gives major kudos to his wife also.

I want that damn Harry Potter book too…ahem. And holy hell with all that controversy. Shit. Look I understand not having a filter. I do. I really do. But, when writing a blog post, filter must be implemented. The funny thing is, I kind of get where KG was coming, I mean I really do. To have your blood sweat and tears turn into a crap of nothing and sell a shit load of something you just crapped out…well yeah. I can understand why that is frustrating and why it would destroy your hopes of enlightened humanity. But, get over it. Shut your pie hole and take the damn money. Thank your wonderful readers and succumb to the fact that yes, you did write smut – you are now a smut-writer. Love your fans and be done. What a stupid post to write. This is the stuff you bitch about with your writer friends at a dinner over wine and drunkenness. NOT write about. She did it to herself. I don’t agree with all the 1 star reviews in response though. Review the book, not the author people. But, really again she did it to herself. But, I agree with Fangs…pass the popcorn.

Kendall Grey is one of those authors who leaves me torn. On one side I want to grab the popcorn and enjoy. yet then the contact embarrassment kicks in and even the slight pity – kind of like watching the early rounds of Britain’s Got Talent or X Factor. You know you shouldn’t mock the poor souls whose mother told them they really could sing, honest, and the decent thing to do would be to turn away and not watch them make such an utter fool of themselves but there’s something so delightfully compelling in watching the hot mess of self-destructive fuckwittery.
But this “bullying” attitude is something more serious and annoys the hell out of me. It’s bad enough when people present any criticism at all as “bullying”, but the idea that you can say something that offends and insults a large number of people and then when they object call it bullying is a demand that people submit to be your punching bag.

So M Leighton has flounced for… reasons? I mean a flounce is pretty pathetic at the best of times, but when criticism has been minimal at best it seems… bemusing. Is it a publicity stunt? Or is she such a precious snowflake that anything less than completely fawning adoration is just too much for her, oh my word precious! Fetch me a fainting couch and some smelling salts and help me pry my fingers from their death grip clutching those pearls!
