Forbidden 2

I’m stealing your tagline for my book because Yes, it all is!! The big fancy cars, the huge mansion, and the million dollars I deserve for just being me—and it’s all locked up. The Outrage! But on a positive note, I love this cover’s image. If only that was a skeleton key that opened up a door to everything I’d ever dreamed of, we’d be set. It does remind me of a couple of Middle-Grade books I’ve written for Scholastic that have a strong influence with keys so I found it very interesting that you used a mysterious key . . . I may end up stealing this cover for another book I’m thinking about writing . . .

Forbidden 3

Getting a very Twilight-y feel from this cover, know what I mean? Rest assured I do not have a love triangle in my book, and I totally saw the rook being a hater on this relationship. But what’s wrong with two chess pieces being in love? They all come from the same mold—literally.

Ultimately, all I gotta say is, “You is BAD,” because I ain’t touchin’ *this* cover’s commentary with a 10-foot pole . . . :-) But there is War in my book and devious chess players—I mean characters. My MC and her betrothed are going to try to one up each other until the ultimate checkmate.

Forbidden Cover 1

Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden! Except Adam is MIA, I don’t see a snake, and Eve apparently is a Couture Fashion Ram girl. Love the idea of the forbidden apple. I also love the outfit and the shoes (I would have blisters the size of a baseball but it’s worth it in the name of fashion!) but I’m not so sure about that hair (I’m expecting Effie Trinket from The Hunger Games to pop up and call a fashion foul for stealing her ‘do).I get a strong Far Eastern vibe from this, and I’m waiting for the Ninjas to pop out from behind the tree wielding swords to duel to the death. As a cover for *my* FORBIDDEN book, I can tell you flat-out that the Tribal Elders would have had a fit over this girl’s leg cleavage.

And now, the REAL cover…

In the unforgiving Mesopotamian desert where Jayden’s tribe lives, betrothal celebrations abound, and tonight it is Jayden’s turn to be honored. But while this union with Horeb, the son of her tribe’s leader, will bring a life of riches and restore her family’s position within the tribe, it will come at the price of Jayden’s heart.

Then a shadowy boy from the Southern Lands appears. Handsome and mysterious, Kadesh fills Jayden’s heart with a passion she never knew possible. But with Horeb’s increasingly violent threats haunting Jayden’s every move, she knows she must find a way to escape—or die trying.

With a forbidden romance blossoming in her heart and her family’s survival on the line, Jayden must embark on a deadly journey to save the ones she loves—and find a true love for herself.

Set against the brilliant backdrop of the sprawling desert, the story of Jayden and Kadesh will leave readers absolutely breathless as they defy the odds and risk it all to be together.

About Kimberley Griffiths Little

Kimberley Little bio pic B&W

I grew up in San Francisco, but now live in an adobe house on the banks of the Rio Grande with my chaotic, messy family. I think I've drunk so much Land of Enchantment water that some of that ancient magic got into my blood and now spurts out my pencil—I mean ergonomic keyboard. I’ve been scribbling stories since I was a kid and it’s a thrilling dream-come-true to see them on the bookstore and library shelves.

I make way too many cookies when I'm revising - and I've got the best book trailers ever - for reals! Check them out on my website or Youtube.

I’ve stayed in a haunted castle tower room at Borthwick Castle in Scotland, sailed on the Seine in Paris, walked the beaches of Normandy, ridden a camel in Petra, sunbathed on Waikiki, shopped the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul, and spent the night in an old Communist hotel in Bulgaria.

P.S. I also write award-winning middle-grade novels with Scholastic. :-)

I think the book cover is pretty, and the story sounds interesting.

I also liked the one y’all made with Eve holding the apple as well.

  2. april yedinak

I love the cover- it looks lush and sexy. The book sounds very interesting. Definitely a departure from my usual romance novels.

  3. Gabrielle

The cover is BEAUTIFUL. There are so many books that I am looking forward to reading. I just need more time!

  4. Mona

Kat’s book covers just keep getting more awesome every time. The first tagline is hilarious. I’d buy any book that said, “Because all the best shit is locked up”!

  5. Jen B.

I love that the book is in a setting that you don’t see often in books. I love the cover (although the “not” covers were certainly fun and interesting). Thanks for the amazing giveaway. My fingers are crossed. I was just at the library looking at the Alyson Noel books. I would love to win the set!

  6. Caitlin

The cover is pretty! The plot isn’t that bad either. It’s slightly different from a typical YA formula at least.

  7. Kayley

I love the cover and I think the plot sounds unique, which makes me really want to read it!

  8. Lucia

I am so excited about this, but I also don’t want to get my hopes up. I believe the book is going to be amazing like the cover.

  9. Kate I.

The combo of red and gold is very striking. I like the font chosen for the title and the curlicues along the left-hand side. The dress and accessories seem appropriate to the story and the character. I like the whole package!

  10. Kamla L.

I love the cover’s deep rich contrast and the design gives it an exotic feel that seems to match very well with the blurb.
