10 Easy Ways to Piss Off Book Bloggers

Pissed+off+vegetables_9bfaa4_4797580I assure you I have thoroughly tested each and every one of these easy and convenient methods of being a self-indulgent dick and their ability to rightfully piss off other people can not be questioned at all.  Use these if you ever want to ensure you continue to be gratuitously disliked and universally despised by everyone with a soul, no matter how big or small it is.

Trust me. I’m a professional at this!

10 Easy Ways to Piss Off Book Bloggers

1. Complain loudly and frequently about getting too many awesome ARCs.

2. Act annoyed that approving friend requests takes up a lot of time and you can’t be bothered to approve them.

3. Continually neglect to comment on anyone’s blog no matter how faithfully they comment on yours.

4. Frequently forget to comment on your own blog. Or respond to people who do.

5. Post photos of that super anticipated, rare and hard-to-get ARC so that everyone knows you got it first. Then loudly fuss over how you probably won’t get a chance to read it for AGES.

6. Name drop all the authors you are best friends with and confess that they are just so needy and love you too much.

7. There are just too many book events you have to attend. Make sure you tell people that frequently.

8. Moan about how you only get a bajillion and one pageviews a day. So not enough.

9. Ask if anyone else’s site traffic is down and then make them specify their numbers so that you can ensure they know that you ONLY get a bajillion and one pageviews a day, so you’re totally like them.

10. Post lists as opposed to real content because  it’s a Saturday night, you’re bored and you’re a lazy blogger who deserves a painful death.

    ROFL!

Hey, you just did a list, is it because it’s Saturday night and you couldn’t be bothered to write a ‘real’ blog post? I’m really disappointed in you, Kat 😛

I love your tongue-in-cheek list, because some of it is true, even if I usually don’t get pissed off about any of it, but the unfollow button isn’t too hard to find if I’m annoyed 😉

    Have a great weekend!

  2. Hazel @ Stay Bookish

I just saved this blog post on my reader! I definitely don’t want to piss any book bloggers off so I’m going to have to remember not to do any of these crimes!

PS: So.. can I post a list on a Sunday night instead? 😉

Oh oh! Don’t forget complaining all the time how you never get any ARCs because pubs hate you, yet you get ARCs all the time. Or you complain that you only have a bajillion followers and that makes you such a newbie blogger. Or request ARCs that you know you’re probably not going to read ever or any time soon but you’ll be damn if you don’t request and get them. Then once you do constantly bring it up that you got it but won’t even read it because it’s not your taste or you don’t have time.

I see a lot of bloggers that do those and it really gets on my nerves. But I love your list! Totally made me laugh and I know tons that do that stuff! Great post! 🙂

#1 and #5 drive me crazy! I’m not that into ARCs (since I don’t get any), but I still find this incredibly annoying and rude.

I actually quite like #10. Lists are fun! 😀

  5. Jacquie

HAHAHA! So true! Thank you for the much needed laugh. I’ll excuse your “lazy” blog post.. because it totally amused me. 😉

  6. Tammi

I’ll forgive you, but just because you used a Benedict Cumberbatch graphic. 😉

I love your list, by the way.

  7. Bella's Shelf

AND this list is why I have ,almost but not yet, given up on blogging. book blogging anyways..
I HONESTLY HATE these weekly “lookie loo at ALL the great ARCS and books I got cuz I’m such a GREAT freaking blogger” lists. UGH.

  8. Mary @ BookSwarm

AMEN!! I mean, cheers to you if you do get a bajillion page views and that super-awesome ARC that we all really, really want but DON’T TELL ME ABOUT IT!! I’m happy with my wee blog…and don’t need to hit of jealousy (it comes even if I try not to be jealous..and I’ve tried!).

I kept laughing for like 2 minutes over the brocoli picture. My fiance even had to ask me what was so funny.

I am guilty of the list thing to a point myself :p

I agree on the commenting too. I’ve given up some of the ‘popular blogs’ and dont bother commenting as they never, ever comment back or barely even – if ever – respond to me on their own blog. It’s just rude.
