Hello and welcome to our first stop on the Apollycon Blog Tour featuring the one and only, Beth Revis!
I was first introduced to Revis’ writing around the time I started blogging when her debut Across the Universe was released. Now I’m a firm believer that each time I read a new book, it teaches me something new about myself, and up until then I didn’t realize how much like loved books set in space. I was fascinated with the story and characters. There were times of frustration, sadness, elation and tears. And it was the first real urge I ever had for an ARC sequel. As you can see Beth Revis inspired a lot of firsts for me when it came to my reading/blogging life. But mostly I was super impressed with the way her writing could stir up so many conflicting emotions in me. Because of that, I have faithfully purchased all of her books since then.

For the longest time Beth Revis remained one of those authors I really wanted to meet, but never had the chance to. That is, until a few months ago during the Dangerous Ladies tour stop at One More Page alongside Megan Miranda, Gwenda Bond, Megan Shepherd and Renee Ahdieh. It was as awesome as it sounds.

Beth was there promoting her newest novel, A World Without You, which tackles tough issues like suicide and depression. Meeting with an author (or any human for that matter) who you have a vast amount of respect for is a great joy. Beth is a pretty swell gal on the interwebs and a treasure in person. So if you happen to be in Orlando, FL next year for Apollycon, you should totes stop by her signing booth and say hi!

Thing you’re most excited about for Apollycon 2017?
I’m most excited to be seeing people! Other author friends are awesome, but anywhere I can meet a large group of readers is A+ in my book. Seriously, the best thing about working in books is talking with other people who like books.
Last book you read?
I just finished the audiobook of Josephine Angelini’s Trial by Fire. It had such a steamy romance and a great magic system. I’m so glad the sequel is already out—I’m starting it next!
Last thing that made you smile?
My morning cup of coffee. I had my dog snuggled on my couch beside me, my baby playing with a board book at my feet, and my laptop showing the words “The End” as I finished a project. It was a perfect moment.
Favorite bookish moment?
I remember when Across the Universe just came out, and I got a letter from a reader in Greece. Her sister had been in the hospital, and they’d read my book together. What she said touched my heart so sincerely, and it reminds me every day why I write the books I do.
Favorite place in the world?
The place doesn’t matter—the people you’re with matter. This is the greatest lesson I’ve learned as I’ve traveled the world, both alone and with people I love. It’s not the location, it’s never the location. It’s the moments and the memories and the people. ”
