Dirty Little Secrets

Dirty Little Secret by Jennifer Echols

Goodreads|Purchase
From the author of the “real page-turner” (Seventeen) Such a Rush comes an unforgettable new drama that follows friends-turned-lovers as they navigate the passions, heartbreaks, and intrigue of country music fame.
Bailey wasn’t always a wild child and the black sheep of her family. She used to play fiddle and tour the music circuit with her sister, Julie, who sang and played guitar. That ended when country music execs swooped in and signed Julie to a solo deal. Never mind that Julie and Bailey were a duet, or that Bailey was their songwriter. The music scouts wanted only Julie, and their parents were content to sit by and let her fulfill her dreams while Bailey’s were hushed away.
Bailey has tried to numb the pain and disappointment over what could have been. And as Julie’s debut album is set to hit the charts, her parents get fed up with Bailey’s antics and ship her off to granddad’s house in Nashville. Playing fiddle in washed-up tribute groups at the mall, Bailey meets Sam, a handsome and oh-so-persuasive guitarist with his own band. He knows Bailey’s fiddle playing is just the thing his band needs to break into the industry. But this life has broken Bailey’s heart once before. She isn’t sure she’s ready to let Sam take her there again…

Cover Reveals

Panic

Panic by Lauren Oliver

Goodreads|Purchase
Panic began as so many things do in Carp, a dead-end town of 12,000 people in the middle of nowhere: because it was summer, and there was nothing else to do.
Heather never thought she would compete in Panic, a legendary game played by graduating seniors, where the stakes are high and the payoff is even higher. She’d never thought of herself as fearless, the kind of person who would fight to stand out. But when she finds something, and someone, to fight for, she will discover that she is braver than she ever thought.
Dodge has never been afraid of Panic. His secret will fuel him, and get him all the way through the game, he’s sure of it. But what he doesn’t know is that he’s not the only one with a secret. Everyone has something to play for.
For Heather and Dodge, the game will bring new alliances, unexpected revelations, and the possibility of first love for each of them—and the knowledge that sometimes the very things we fear are those we need the most.

Lance needs Dusty to prove his innocence by finding the real attacker, but that’s easier asked than done. Eli’s dreams are no help, more nightmares than prophecies.
To make matters worse, Dusty’s ex-boyfriend has just been acquitted of conspiracy and is now back at school, reminding Dusty of why she fell for him in the first place. The Magi Senate needs Dusty to get close to him, to discover his real motives. But this order infuriates Eli, who has started his own campaign for Dusty’s heart.
As Dusty takes on both cases, she begins to suspect they’re connected to something bigger. And there’s something very wrong with Eli’s dreams, signs that point to a darker plot than they could have ever imagined.

The cover for Panic is making me panic about how the story will turn out if the publishers allowed this cover to happen. At least Wings by Richards is gorgeous. 🙂

    • ReadingbyKF

saldelmaz Totally agree! Panic’s cover was such a let down!! Not to mention they seem to be using the same font as Delirium! I was looking toward something more exciting and colorful. It’s like they didn’t put any effort at all, or just ran out of time to make a good one.
On the other hand, Wings is amazing! I love the cover for her series!

Oh some interesting covers this week!  The Panic one definitely throws me off.  It looks like such a simple photo anyone can take, but part of it’s naturalness and every-day look catches.  It’s very bizarre.  I like look at it, scroll on, and then have to go back to it to look at it again.  Huh.
And I love the cover for Two.  Something about those type of photographs with people in strange positions or floating always intrigues me.  I’m such a weirdo.  😉  Those are the two that catch my eye this week!

Ahhhhhh!!!!!! The Nightmare Dilemma and Two!!! Their covers are just freaking AWESOME! I haven’t even read the first books in those series yet (however much I’ve been pining over them), but DAMN they look SO good!
I’m surprised to see that Dirty Little Secret is only just releasing this week. I feel like I’ve been seeing so much buzz  about it for so long that I thought it was long released by now.
