Cuddlebuggery is on Hiatus

17 June, 2013 Announcement 13 comments

kitten sleepingCuddlebuggery is on a two week hiatus as of today.  This means there will be no Buzz Worthy News post going up today or next week either.  In case you haven’t noticed, Steph and I have been a little bit lackluster about posting lately.  We’re tired.  We’ve been posting almost every day for more than a year and thus need a little holiday.

It’s easy to lose your passion for blogging.  A blog isn’t a sprint, it’s a marathon.  And most blogs take an extraordinary amount of time and attention to maintain.  Not only to keep the site going, generate content, organize giveaways, handle the huge amount of emails we get, acquire and read books, and organize interviews/guestposts, but also to be creative and try new things.  When we first started Cuddlebuggery, we loved to try new things and experiment with different posts and styles.  Lately, the more exhaustion sets in, the more we simply do the bare minimum to get by.  This isn’t the kind of blog we want Cuddlebuggery to be.  Cuddlebuggery shouldn’t be blah.  We never wanted our blog to be dull, flat and boring. Our goal is always to be entertaining, energized, fresh and original.

It will be hard for us to be away from you lovelies.  Blogging is something of an addiction.  The desire to log on and plug in thoughts and words will probably hit us hard.  But we’re hopeful that when we come back, we’ll have some new and exciting stuff to share, a renewed passion and better dick jokes.  The ones we’re using at the moment aren’t really rising to the occasion.

So dream of us at night, darlings, like we will be dreaming of you.  And in a couple of short weeks we’ll return to make all your fondest wishes come true!

A little addition from Steph: We actually still have a few posts going up this week from previous commitments (a blog tour post/giveaway and a cover reveal!). LBBA winners can still send us links to their reviews and expect for them to be featured in July 1st’s Buzz Worthy News.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
    I understand but still NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Nooooooooooooooooo I need my regular gossip! And new and crafty ways to make Kat read the Fallen series!
But beware blogger burnout – drink lots of booze and sacrifice a badly behaving author for more energy

We all need a little time to recharge the batteries. We take vacations from our regular jobs. So, why not from blogging? It’s best to take a little time off than get burnt out. Have a good time, guys. We hope to see you fresh faced and bushy tailed in two weeks!

“Better dick jokes?”  This implies there are BAD dick jokes!
I will miss seeing your posts over the next two weeks, but I hope you come back refreshed and recharged.  Also, if recent posts really have been an indication of your bare minimum, just know that you are more creative than many of us could hope to be!

I’M GOING TO MISS SEEING YOUR POSTS SO MUCH. *wonders what to look forward to every Monday now*
Everyone needs a break, so enjoy yours! We’ll be waiting your triumphant return.

Enjoy your break ladies!  I bet by the end of it you’ll be gagging (oooerr) to get back to it 🙂

You see, this post is when I know we’re on the same wave length, because I will be away on vacation for the next two weeks myself! It’s almost as though one of you has read my mind and gone on hiatus just for me!  And now I won’t have to miss my favorite book bloggers while I’m gone, because you won’t be posting anything.  🙂
Hey, guys, seriously though, I get it!  Take a well deserved rest and come back when you feel fresh and ready!  Read some favorite books or books that might not be on your blog list.  (Stephanie, I know you’re all about the sci-fi.  Have you read Octavia Butler yet?  I’m doing a reread of my favorite books this summer and she is at the top of my list!  I recommend Parable of the Sower and Parable of the Talents.  I also picked up one of hers from the library I’d never read before called Dawn.  Anyway, just a little recommend.)

Lately I feel like I’ve been doing the minimum to get by as well; it’s finally nice here and the last thing I want is to be inside on my computer! I’ve got a week of vacation in July coming up, as well as a wedding and a cottage party/weekend, debating taking the whole month off…
I’ll miss you both and look forward to your glorious return 🙂
P.s. Loved the dick joke you slid in there 😉

No matter how fun blogging is or how awesome your readers are (we’re the shiz!), it will eventually feel like work.  I see the word Blogcation becoming a thing. Just so you know, I’m going to assume ya’ll are pool side, reading some awesome books.

Nooo, what must we do without you!!
Have fun ladies, it’s definitely hard to maintain enthusiasm for blogging when words like “work” start to mingle with your hobby. I’m having the same problem eith my blog. Hopefully you catch up on some much needed sleep 😉

You ladies will be missed! I certainly understand the need for a break though. Don’t we all need one every now and then? Enjoy your mini-vacation from blogging 😉

We will miss you!! I can’t wait to see what you ladies come up with after you come back!
