Release Date: 17th July 2012
Sixteen-year-old Rinn Jacobs has secrets: One, she’s bipolar. Two, she killed her grandmother.
[expand title=”Read More”]After a suicide attempt, and now her parents’ separation, Rinn and her mom move from California to the rural Ohio town where her mother grew up. Back on her medications and hoping to stay well, Rinn settles into her new home, undaunted by the fact that the previous owner hanged herself in Rinn’s bedroom. At school, her classmates believe the school pool is haunted by Annaliese, a girl who drowned there. But when a reckless séance goes awry, and terrible things start happening to her new friends—yet not to her—Rinn is determined to find out why she can’t be “touched” by Annaliese…or if Annaliese even exists.
With the help of Nate Brenner, the hunky “farmer boy” she’s rapidly falling for, Rinn devises a dangerous plan to uncover the truth. Soon reality and fantasy meld into one, till Rinn finds it nearly impossible to tell the difference. When a malevolent force threatens the lives of everyone she cares about–not to mention her own–she can’t help wondering: who should she really be afraid of?

Seth is the most obvious suspect for the explosion, and Waverly the most obvious suspect for releasing him. As the tension reaches a boiling point, will Seth be able to find the true culprit before Kieran locks them both away—or worse? Will Waverly follow her heart, even if it puts lives at risk? With the balance of power precarious and the clock ticking, every decision counts… every step brings them closer to a new beginning, or a sudden end…[/expand][/one_third]

I’d seen the cover for Shades of Earth, but didn’t know the other two books were getting new covers; it makes a lot more sense now. Still, I thought the original covers were more appealing. This does make it look for dystopian-y/apocalyptic, though.
Expy
Looking all of these and finding none that interest me. =( Am I the only who feels this way? I do like the cover-arts for “Shades of the Earth” and “Clockwork Princess” though.

maia
i hate when they do cover changes! or rather, i hate when they do it so now my covers wont match up 🙁 i dont like the new ones as much for Shades of Eath- not as pretty i think but maybe they’ll appeal more to…guys? i dont know but yeah, i think Clares Clockwork cover is gorgeous and it matches the other two so im happy! The Girl With the Borrowed Wings sounded good but hasnt got many good reviews on GR’s so maybe i’ll give it a miss. excited for the Unquiet though.
