Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
Revealed on: Throne of Glass Facebook Page
Expected Publication:August 7, 2012
After serving out a year of hard labor in the salt mines of Endovier for her crimes, 18-year-old assassin Celaena Sardothien is dragged before the Crown Prince. Prince Dorian offers her her freedom on one condition: she must act as his champion in a competition to find a new royal assassin.
Her opponents are men—thieves and assassins and warriors from across the empire, each sponsored by a member of the kings council. If she beats her opponents in a series of eliminations, she’ll serve the kingdom for three years and then be granted her freedom.
Celaena finds her training sessions with the captain of the guard, Westfall, challenging and exhilirating. But she’s bored stiff by court life. Things get a little more interesting when the prince starts to show interest in her… but it’s the gruff Captain Westfall who seems to understand her best.
Then one of the other contestants turns up dead… quickly followed by another. Can Celaena figure out who the killer is before she becomes a victim? As the young assassin investigates, her search leads her to discover a greater destiny than she could possibly have imagined.

The Elector Primo of the Republic has died, with his son assuming power over what’s left of the USA’s West Coast as it teeters on full-blown chaos. June and Day join up with Patriot rebels so they can rescue Day’s brother and head east for the Colonies. In order to help, though, the rebels want June and Day to kill the new Elector, who may pose an even greater threat than his father.
Closed Hearts by Susan Kaye Quinn

The sequel to Open Minds is coming May 23rd, 2012!
When you control minds, only your heart can be used against you.
Eight months ago, Kira Moore revealed to the mindreading world that mindjackers like herself were hidden in their midst. Now she wonders if telling the truth was the right choice after all. As wild rumors spread, a powerful anti-jacker politician capitalizes on mindreaders’ fears and strips jackers of their rights. While some jackers flee to Jackertown—a slum rife with jackworkers who trade mind control favors for cash—Kira and her family hide from the readers who fear her and jackers who hate her. But when a jacker Clan member makes Kira’s boyfriend Raf collapse in her arms, Kira is forced to save the people she loves by facing the thing she fears most: FBI agent Kestrel and his experimental torture chamber for jackers.
Then You Were Gone by Lauren Strasnick
Revealed on: Jen Rofe’s Twitter
Expected Publication: Jan 8, 2013
Two years ago, Adrienne’s best friend, Dakota, walked out of her life. One week ago, she left Adrienne a desperate, muffled voicemail. Adrienne never called back.
Now Dakota is missing, and all that remains is a string of broken hearts, a flurry of rumors, and a suicide note.
Adrienne can’t stop obsessing over what might have happened if she’d answered Dakota’s call. And she’s growing more convinced each day that Dakota is still alive.
Maybe finding and saving Dakota is the only way Adrienne can save herself.
Or maybe it’s too late for them both.
The First Days by Rhiannon Frater
Revealed On: Reader of Fictions
Expected Publication: Oct 30, 2012
Rhiannon Frater’s As the World Dies trilogy is an internet sensation. The first two books, The First Days and Fighting to Survive, have won the Dead Letter Award for Best Novel from Mail Order Zombie. The First Days was named one of the Best Zombie Books of the Decade by the Harrisburg Book Examiner. AmericanHorrorBlog calls Rhiannon Frater “a writer to watch.”
The morning that the world ends, Katie is getting ready for court and housewife Jenni is taking care of her family. Less than two hours later, they are fleeing for their lives from a zombie horde.
Thrown together by circumstance, Jenni and Katie become a powerful zombie-killing partnership, mowing down zombies as they rescue Jenni’s stepson, Jason, from an infected campground.
They find sanctuary in a tiny, roughly fortified Texas town. There Jenni and Katie find they are both attracted to Travis, leader of the survivors; and the refugees must slaughter people they know, who have returned in zombie form.
Fast-paced and exciting, filled with characters

Hemlock is finally out! I seriously thought that book was supposed to be released months ago! There was so much hype for it and then it fizzled away. Now I must go check out the reviews. I also like the Prodigy cover. It fits nicely with Legend.
Stephanie Sinclair
@Krista R:
I’ve been heading a lot about Hemlock lately. I have an e-ARC of it. Perhaps I should bump it up on my list. I agree, I love Prodigy’s cover!
Lexie B.
I am RIDICULOUSLY excited for Hemlock and Second Chance Summer.
Also, Prodigy’s looking pretty damn sexy.
Stephanie Sinclair
@Lexie B.:
More vampires! It seems like vamps are trending again, but not just any vamps: scary vamps! Yay!
Kate C.
As crazy as it sounds, none of those covers are really getting me to want to read them. I admit, I’m a little burnt out at the moment though. I DO want to check out Endure. What an interesting title. What in Heaven’s name is she/he enduring?
I also really like the backlighting in “Then You Were Gone.” Very interesting and out of the ordinary. It’s always cool to see what author’s are going to come up with next. 🙂
Stephanie Sinclair
@Kate C.:
I’m not too thrilled with Throne of Glass’s cover. I was hoping for something more badass. But I do like Prodigy’s cover. It matches Legend’s well.

I thought I wasn’t excited for Hemlock, but the reviews have me rethinking that! And Prodigy is looking good, I am really happy with its cover.

According to Josephine Angelini’s website, Dreamless isn’t being released until May 29th.
I almost had a heart attack thinking it was available now 🙂
Stephanie Sinclair
@AJ:
Oh, wow! They must have changed that date on GoodReads after I added it to the list. Ugh! Thanks for the heads up!
AJ
@Stephanie Sinclair: no problem. I also checked the goodreads page after I saw this and it was all messed up with the wrong date and the description in German. So, I’m not sure what happened to it. I did translate the German back to English though and the publication date when I was editing it reset itself to the 29th I guess because I didn’t touch that. But it all seems to be correct now 🙂
