We here at Cuddlebuggery are pleased to be a part of the cover reveal for Alex Lidell’s debut YA fantasy novel, The Cadet of Tildor! There are also two great giveaway prize packs at the end of the post!
Having already survived six years at Tildor’s top military academy, sixteen-year-old Renee De Winter is determined to graduate, training day and night to compete with her male classmates. When the boys overpower her parries, she works harder. When a bully sabotages her gear, she fights without it. But when an underground crime group captures her mentor for its illegal gladiatorial games, she must choose between her career and her conscience. Determined to penetrate the group’s inner circles, Renee will leap from academia to the crime filled streets, pick up a sword, and weigh law against loyalty.
The Cadet of Tildor will be released on January 10, 2013 through Dial Books for Young Readers (Penguin).

Thanks for the great cover reveal. I like that the cover isn’t focused on the main character’s gender. And the cut on the arm is a nice touch, makes it real that that sword is being used. Definitely added to my GR and amazon up coming release list!

Yes! I’m happy not to see another prom dress cover. And I just realized the Amazon and GoodReads buttons weren’t working. Fixed now! 😀

Wow. I agree with erinfl above! The first thing I thought when I saw the cover was–well, first was just that it looks awesome. But the second thing I thought was how cool it was that the female and her girlness *isn’t* the focus! That, plus the author likes Tamora Pierce? Definitely gotta read it.

I love it! Both the cover and the synopsis are very Tamora Pierce-esque, and since I adore everything that woman has written, I suspect I’ll be a fan of this as well. 😀
