So a few months back I went to a Fierce Reads signing — as one does — and the super cute Katie Finn, author of Broken Hearts, Fences and Other Things to Mend, was there. We got to the question and answer section and Andye from Reading Teen mentions writing with different aliases. I don’t remember what Katie’s response was because I was in the midst of a WAIT WHAT moment. So naturally, I interrupted the panel and said, “WAIT. I’m confused. WHO ARE YOU?!” She smiled sweetly and said, “Morgan Matson.”
To be honest, I didn’t believe her at first. I mean, how could this have gone on for so long without me knowing?! Then my blogging buddies were all, “Uh, yeah, Steph. It’s her calm down, you’re making a scene.”
So I went to Twitter to see if I were the only one to not know this, ya know?
OMG. It's @morgan_m! My life just came full circle.

Turns out our moderator Gabrielle from Mod Podge Bookshelf had no idea either!
@ReadingTeen I'm so annoyed I didn't manage to discover this fact. Apparently I'm a crap gumshoe. @morgan_m

Secretly, I think Katie/Morgan enjoyed our reactions.
@Cuddlebuggery @novelsounds hahaha such a great moment

Though I’ve been told that Katie Finn and Morgan Matson are the same person, I’m not entirely convinced since their books are vastly different from one another. For starters, did you know they each have different tastes as well? Yeah, totes. We asked them a few Very Important Questions as a test:
1. Coke or Pepsi?
Morgan: Diet Coke FOR LIFE. Fountain preferable.
Katie: Diet coke. Though will occasionally sub Diet Dr. Pepper if needed.
2. Team Edward or Team Jacob?
Morgan: TEAM JACOB
Katie: Can I be Team Jasper instead?
3. Cake or Pie?
Morgan: pie! Blueberry or peach.
Katie: Cake! And the more frosting, the better.
4. Gale or Peeta?
Morgan: PEETA.
Katie: Peeta. I mean, come on.
5. Ninjas or Pirates?
Morgan: Pirates.
Katie: Ninja Pirates. Best of both worlds!
See? They are totally different people… just living in the same body. MORE EVIDENCE:
Giveaway
Is your mind blown yet? I’m sure Katie Finn/Morgan Matson is off somewhere enjoying your torment. As a peace offering, Mackids has a great giveaway for a copy of Broken Hearts, Fences and Other Things to Mend!

Broken Hearts, Fences, and Other Things to Mend (Broken Hearts & Revenge #1) by Katie Finn
Goodreads
Summer, boys, and friendships gone sour. This new series has everything that perfect beach reads are made of!
Gemma just got dumped and is devastated. She finds herself back in the Hamptons for the summer—which puts her at risk of bumping into Hallie, her former best friend that she wronged five years earlier. Do people hold grudges that long?
When a small case of mistaken identity causes everyone, including Hallie and her dreamy brother Josh, to think she’s someone else, Gemma decides to go along with it.
Gemma’s plan is working (she’s finding it hard to resist Josh), but she’s finding herself in embarrassing situations (how could a bathing suit fall apart like that!?). Is it coincidence or is someone trying to expose her true identity? And how will Josh react if he finds out who she is?
Katie Finn hits all the right notes in this perfect beginning to a new summer series: A Broken Hearts & Revenge novel.

I actually JUST found this out yesterday!
I was on the Macteen website and came across this post: http://www.macteenbooks.com/ya/author-video-interviewing-your-other-persona-by-katie-finn-or-morgan-matson/
Needless to say, I immediately added Broken Hearts to my TBR list!

I had no clue that Katie Finn and Morgan Matson were the same person either until a few months ago when I saw something in an article. I was totally surprised and had to like match up their pictures to make sure it wasn’t a joke. But I love how their answers to each of the questions are different! I think that’s so cool!

YAY thanks for the giveaway – I LOVE Morgan Matson’s book -they are all 5 stars for me and I can’t get enough! I found out like 2ish months ago that she was also Katie Finn. I actually found out because she instagramed a photo of her nails that matched Broken Hearts which made me do research and found out Katie Finn is her pen name. This made me excited because she has become one of my favorite authors and I am glad there were more books by her! Although I admit I haven’t read any books under Katie Finn and this needs to change! Honestly, part of me is nervous I won’t like them as much because I know they are different. But it’s Morgan Matson I need to try – especially with this new trilogy. The titles are so awesome! So I have been wanting to get my hands on this book for awhile!! YAY! Loved this post 🙂

I did know they were the same person haha. But I knew about Morgan, first!

I had NO ideas. But I love it! When an author can write different styles and genres and be awesome in more than one? I LOVE it! I’ve always thought the nom de plume concept was a fun way to indulge alter-egos. 🙂
Sara
I did, but I only found out a few days ago!

I. DIDN’T. KNOW. IT. :O
