Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater Tarot Tour + Giveaway

WHEEE!! IT’S TAROT TOUR DAY! If you follow me on twitter chances are you’ve seen me freaking out over The Raven Cycle or retweeting Maggie Stiefvater like it’s my job. This is one of my favorite set of books ever. It is some of the most magically beautiful, flawlessly poetic storytelling I’ve ever come across and I cannot stress enough how much you are missing out if you haven’t checked out this series yet. So, naturally, when Cuddlebuggery was asked to promote The Raven Cycle Tarot Tour once I was done squeaking and vibrating, I responded yes with the level of enthusiasm normally only found in small, wiry terriers about to be walked for the first time that day.

Speaking of things I really like, have I mentioned that I really like playlists? Well I do. Since I don’t have a tarot card to share with you, I thought I’d celebrate the tour/book/series by sharing my playlists for The Dream Thieves and Blue Lily, Lily Blue (list for The Raven Boys TBD, I spend an entirely unreasonable amount of time on these, okay?).

The Tarot Tour

TartotDeckPrize

To celebrate the release of Blue Lily, Lily Blue, Maggie Stiefvater designed The Raven Cycle Tarot, a Major Arcana 22-card deck inspired by The Raven Cycle series. Make sure you check out the other stops on the tour for a peak at the (GORGEOUS) cards and rundown of their meanings. About The Series

TheRavenCycle

Mystery, Romance and the supernatural combine in this series from #1 New York Times bestselling author Maggie Stiefvater.

Book 1: The Raven Boys

Every year, Blue Sargent stands next to her clairvoyant mother as the soon-to-be dead walk past. Blue never sees them–until this year, when a boy emerges from the dark and speaks to her. His name is Gansey, a rich student at Aglionby, the local private school. Blue has a policy of staying away from Aglionby boys. Known as Raven Boys, they can only mean trouble.

But Blue is drawn to Gansey, in a way she can’t entirely explain. He is on a quest that has encompassed three other Raven Boys: Adam, the scholarship student who resents the privilege around him; Ronan, the fierce soul whose emotions range from anger to despair; and Noah, the taciturn watcher who notices many things but says very little.

For as long as she can remember, Blue has been warned that she will cause her true love to die. She doesn’t believe in true love, and never thought this would be a problem. But as her life becomes caught up in the strange and sinister world of the Raven Boys, she’s not so sure anymore.

Book 2: The Dream Thieves

Now that the ley lines around Cabeswater have been woken, nothing for Ronan, Gansey, Blue, and Adam will be the same. Ronan, for one, is falling more and more deeply into his dreams, and his dreams are intruding more and more into waking life. Meanwhile, some very sinister people are looking for some of the same pieces of the Cabeswater puzzle that Gansey is after….

Book 3: Blue Lily, Lily Blue

There is danger in dreaming. But there is even more danger in waking up.

Blue Sargent has found things. For the first time in her life, she has friends she can trust, a group to which she can belong. The Raven Boys have taken her in as one of their own. Their problems have become hers, and her problems have become theirs.

The trick with found things though, is how easily they can be lost.

I love the Raven Boys series because the language is hypnotic and I get lost in the stories so completely. I am still waiting for my copy of Blue Lily, Lily Blue. The truck that delivers to Steifvater’s for signed copies was in a accident and damaged all of the books. I am still waiting for mine to come. I am trying to be patient!!

  2. Christina R.

I LOVE all of Maggie Stiefvater’s characters, and the magic that’s always in her books is always unique.

Just in case rafflecopter shows my location outside US, it’s because I’m on a short trip but would use my regular US address.

thank you so very much 🙂

I am completely in love with The Raven Cycle because not only are the characters so captivating but the way Maggie is so descriptive and so lyrical with her writing just makes you feel like your a part of the story. Plus I enjoyed the different Pov’s of Blue and the Raven boys for it gave them each their own story that you couldn’t help but love them even when they were flawed. It let you see everything through their eyes which is what I totally loved about the books because their all so different yet they merge with one another into this beautiful series!
Ps. You can tell how much I love this series! I am in love with book characters. *laughing*

I have read the first two books and I just love how otherworldly this series is! I had no idea what to expect when I first started it, but what made me stick to it in the first place were the characters! I love them. Well, not all of them.

    Thanks for the giveaway! 🙂

  7. Nadia

I love TRC because of the relationships between the characters <3 and because of Maggie's lovely writing.

  12. Vivien

  13. Juanita

I loved the Raven Boys! The worldbuilding is so different, and the characters are great. Blue’s such a lucky girl.

  14. Mandy R

I really fell in love with the characters. I also enjoy a good mystery. I thought the narrator for the audio book was very good. His voice really fit with the book

  15. Ani

I just love everything about The Raven Cycle! I love Blue, I love her boys, I love all the other side characters from 300 Fox Way, and I even love the villains from each book… if you can even call them that. The writing is magical and witty.

Oh yes. And I am in love with Gansey.

  16. Ashley

    Ronan.

Okay, honestly, I love it for so many reasons. No one writes prose like Maggie Stiefvater. I love Blue, Gansey, Calla. I LOVE JESSIE DITLEY. Hell, I even love Adam, even if sometimes I kind of hate him a little.

  17. Angie

Why do I love The Raven Cycle? Let me count the ways. Errrrrr that could be a really long list so I’ll just narrow it down: glorious writing, Ronan Lynch, haunting atmosphere ,PYNCH PYNCH PYNCH PYNCH, wonderfully loyal friendships, painfully doomed ships, Gansey Fancy Face. I seriously could go on forever but I won’t because you know I need to sleep or something lazy like that.

I live under a rock (it’s a bit damp but cozy) and I haven’t read the Raven Cycle yet 🙁 But I really, really want too!! Thanks for sharing!

  19. Amanda

I read the first two books, and they’re pretty amazing. Maggie is a master of characterization. I don’t want anything bad to happen to any of them, but I know it will….

  20. Skylar

It’s Stiefvater’s realistic prose and blend of Welsh mythology with the modern world that make the series so appealing.

  21. Elizabeth

    1. That tarot deck is a WORK OF ART.
    2. I just read Blue Lily, Lily Blue (last night, because another book blogger is the BEST and loaned me her ebook copy because my library is SO. SLOW at ordering books). I completely forgot this was a quartet, not a trilogy and now EVERYTHING HURTS.
    3. You know what else is a work of art? Maggie’s writing. It’s seriously so freaking beautiful to immerse yourself in!
    4. Also the covers. I want them on my wall.

I have read each book in the raven cycle.
I have read each book in the raven cycle 3 times at least.
I love everything about the raven cycle, from the character to the writing to the weird but awesome mythology.
I am talking like an incoherent fangirling toddler. Bye.

  24. Lizzy

Big fan of Blue in the first novel. Second book didn’t have enough Blue for me, but still a fun read. Can’t wait to read the third. 🙂

  25. Brittney

After having the 1st book for over a year, I finally picked it up to read because there seems to be a quickly dwindling number of people who hadn’t and I didn’t want to be the last.

Loved it a lot. Immediately bought and read Dream Thieves and Blue Lily, Lily Blue. Loved them also.

  26. Emily

I LOVE Maggie’s writing. It is beautiful, enthralling, and addictive. Her characters are another aspect of her stories I adore, they are all so well rounded and intriguing.
