Cuddlebuggery Reading Time: Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi

So, I took the challenge and decided to read Tahereh Mafi’s debut title, Shatter Me.  Since my brilliance can not always be contained to the written word, I made a video for it.  This video contains at least 33% shenanigans but only 20% which, if you know your maths, is 100% the best!

Warner is totally hot. You are not alone. But I agree about this one. The narrative was really hard for me to follow, and the strike throughs were just TOOOO much for me. That said, I didn’t hate it. It was an average read for me but I have not read any of the other books and that tells you something right there.
This is my favorite new feature on the interwebs, so keep it up! 😀

“Adventurous writing”. Oooooooh I like this euphemism.
Her lungs collapse? Her lungs collapse mid sexy time? Wow, i’ve had no end of knees collapsing, but lungs? That can’t be a good thing. Does he have a health warning? Especially since he makes people shatter?
Is she moving away desperately or desperately not moving away or desperately trying to move away but is desperately imprisoned? Desperately?
Oh. My. Gods. Every audio book now needs to be read in Super Aussie Accent. And how do lips TWITCH?

Haha sexay! I love your accent. Oh and if you think Warner is sexy in that one, you definitely need to read Unravel Me! I felt about the same as you did about Shatter Me. I liked it but it didn’t wow me. But the second book blew me out of the water. It was so much better than Shatter Me!

LOL that reading was definitely hot! I’m glad that I’m not the only one with a perverse attraction to Warner despite everything else…
Damn, I wish my Aussie accent was that sexy 😉

That whole video is made of win.  Your voice and facial expressions are amazing.
I agree with Jessi (Geo), if you thought Warner wass hot in Shatter Me, you’ll want to read Unravel Me and Destroy Me. And there will be no judgment from me. I have a whole Goodreads shelf named “Apparently I lust the crazy dudes.” It seems as though I have “issues.” 🙂
Also, there are less strikethroughs and repetition in Unravel Me. I think it’s meant to be a part of Juliette finding her voice.

Well, I don’t think I would read this book, but if you read it I would listen to the whole thing!  I freaking love an accent.  That’s one of the reasons my hubby is so sexy, he can do any accent I want.  Now if only I could get him to wear a kilt…
I love that you keep doing this feature.  It’s fab!

Lol. This was so funny. Too bad I didn’t like the book -it was too romance-y for me. And I didn’t really like any of the characters either. Bummer.

It gets better, read Destroy Me and then Unravel Me. So much better than Shatter Me.

Don’t feel bad about liking Warner – if you read Destroy Me and Unravel Me, a lot of things are revealed that make him much more human and less crazy (though admittedly he still is a little). Wait till you get to chapter 62. Ohmigod. Read THAT out loud. Lol

You think so? I think she’s presented Warner as a sexualized love interest, and it really, really shows in the sequel too. It is portrayed less healthily in the first book, but in the second, it’s almost…. accepted? So not just you. Although I’ve talked to some bloggers who are really upset with the sexualization of the psychopathic Warner, and one told me that Warner made her want to puke in her mouth. (But look at the Goodreads page and you’ll see Team Warner > Team Adam in visibility, methinks.)
Also, hey! I still like your accent :). Looking forward to more CB reading time.

Oh Kat, I love your accent and your facial expressions. Haha. 😀  This book is still on my TBR pile.

Stoppit, Kat, Stoppit. I’m not supposed to be laughing so much because then I miss some of the things you’ve said.
Great feature! Your reading time is pretty hilarious.

Oh my gosh this was absolutely hilarious. I loved the writing in this book but it sounds ridiculous when you read it out. Your facial expressions are SO funny!
