Brief disclaimer: If you know of one of these books, that has already been written, you are legally obligated to inform me of them!

Number 1

Concept #1

A Sad Clown realizes s/he has a supernatural ability to make people smile – Ends the Great Depression with laughter.

Possible Title: The Great Depression

Synopsis: Celia finds life morbid and strange, and always has.  She wants to make people think about their lives, but strangely she can only make them laugh.  The Great Depression is in full swing, and at a time where Celia wants to make people think, they want only to be entertained.  Finally, giving up, she decides to do both because, hey, people be cray-cray, right? So fart jokes it is.  All the fart jokes they can take until the Great Depression ends due to an over abundance of laughter.

But did Celia make them think enough… about farts?

Number 2Concept #2

A sci-fi world where nobody can remember the protagonist unless s/he wrongs them in some way.

Possible Title: All Wrong

Synopsis: For Darcy, the world is a weird place. People can’t remember her, can barely see her, never even notice her.  Unless, that is, she does something wrong.  Offending people, hurting them, insulting them, that is the only way anyone will react or interact with her.  Darcy struggles between the desire to be a good person.  She finally comes to a middle ground when she discovers the wonder of dick jokes – a wonderful compromise between being an amoral bastard by telling them, and only minimally hurting people be eradicating their class and education.

But are there too many dick jokes? (Cuddlebuggery says: no.)

Number 3Concept #3

A Dystopian world where hatred is outlawed, but is apathy kinder?

Possible Title: Kill: With Kindness

Synopsis: Jasper wants to be like everyone else: Peaceful and kind.  But he looks at the world around him, so full of pain and suffering, and feels hatred.  Yet, in a world that has outlawed all hatred, what is there to do?  Can he defy family, friends and society to foster the kind of hatred that will result in change?  Or are they right about him?  Is there any good kind of fury, or is it all bad?

He probably should have picked something like big government or environmentalism as opposed to just hating ponies though…

Number 4Concept #4

A group of Debut Young Adult authors get trapped in their own books.  Is that psychopathic boyfriend sexy now?  HUH?!

Possible Title: Sexy Young Adult Book

Synopsis: Four young adult debut authors have proudly sold their novels.  Fans gush about the lead protagonists and the authors glow with pride. But though a strange power, they’re sucked into their own worlds, experiencing their own epic romances and adventures in place of their protagonists.  But when their experiences start to feel uncomfortable and intimidating, who can they turn to?  When their hot male protagonists turns scary, who can help?  Who will even believe them?

And how can they ever escape?

Number 5Concept# 5

A fantasy world in which people don’t become pregnant via sex, but via love.

Possible Title: No Such Slut

Synopsis: In a world where sex has no consequences, no value, Virginia reigns.  Sex is fun, free and nothing else.  So when her people meet a strange culture where sex is everything, she starts to question everything.  When they label her a slut and whore, what does it mean?  Are they right?  Is she giving up some inalienable part of herself?  Clashing with a culture that places so much value on something so strangely unimportant to Virginia.

Who is wrong?  Who is right? Is there a line to tow or has Virginia already gone too far?

Yes to Sexy Young Adult Book! And All Wrong could be interesting.
On a side nut, this just emphasises how much of a nut you are Kat <3

I want Sexy Young Adult Book….
Someone NEEDS TO WRITE IT.. it would be a dream come true. I can imagine the torture the authors would be put through :’)

  3. judy10001

I like the No Such Slut one, it actually is really interesting and I love the concept! What are values, what should people value? Find out more in the sequel!? Da, da, da…
    Haha. jk, love you guys!

  4. AmieKaufman

Oh MAN you put all my ideas on the internet WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT KENNEDY? Still, the world is going to love my sad clown young adult sexytime book full of dirty jokes. I will be a star and live in a castle and have one butler just to cook me bacon and another to pair my socks.

  5. ferdybookgeek

I must read all of these – please someone write them! I love the debut authors getting stuck in their own story and having to deal with the psycho hero they created. Bwahaha!
Oh and the covers you made ar ebetter than most self pub covers!

  6. Staraptorkiin

Oh man, any of these would be hilarious to read. No Such Slut is particularly an interesting concept!

In a weird way, All Wrong and Kill, No Such Slut, and Kill with Kindness seem like they would be interesting books. I have no excuse, other than to say I can see it working if written by certain authors.
However, my favorite is Sexy Young Adult book, lol. I’m just picturing some of the characters from Perfect Chemistry, that crazy guy from Hush, Hush (which I’ve never read, but heard about), maybe Edward from Twilight, and I guess we probably need to throw in some Dystopian YA guy.

    Great post.

Concept #5 reminds me of Brave New World. But I LOVE concept #2!!

  9. athousand_lives

Hahaha! I’d love to read any and all of these books- especially 2,4&5. I would pay lots of money to read 4. The synopsis for all of them start out really intriguing and quite serious then BAM- dick jokes. There’s the Kat we all know and love! If these don’t exist yet then the task fall upon your shoulders to write them. Do the world some good, Kat.

Lady, you’re crazy pants and…I LOVE IT. All are great concepts but #4 and #5 take the cake. Authors getting trapped in their own books with their very own crazy-ass psychopathic boyfriend character? Heck yes!

  11. KKTrotter

I’m totally in love with Concept #4! That’s what always hinders my enjoyment of bad-bad-bad-boys love interests. Or the creepers. I mean … if guys did that to me in my real life I’d run far, far away. Awesome post 🙂

I really need Sexy Young Adult Book to be written. Now. Right now.
I also want someone to use “hey, people be cray cray, right?” in a synopsis.

Hilarious and awesome. I approve on all accounts.

As far as Sexy Young Adult Book goes… isn’t that (kind of) the premise for Team Human?

  15. vengefulreader

The best (worst?) part is, you could write Sexy Young Adult Book by lifting passages out of published novels and changing nothing about the dialogue/actions of the “love interests,” just change the reactions of everyone else, and have it be horror.

Well, except it would have to be fanfiction, I guess.

I know I’m a bit late, but I need to say: this is the single greatest post ever written. Bar none. Thank you.
