Things To Do While Everyone Else is at BEA

Format: select

1. Read books even though everyone else is getting ARCs from BEA

2. Rearrange your sock draw.  Fucking socks getting all unorganized.

3. Is that some lint?

4. Schedule enough blogposts for a whole month!

5. Half of them suck so… delete.

6. Have fun because BEA is probably so boring.

7. But that’s hard because you’re all by yourself.  Bet those people at BEA aren’t alone…

8. Wikipedia chain link reading until life doesn’t hurt so bad.

9. Drink.

10. Drink some more.

11. Where did all the drinks go?!

12. More lint?  Time to burn everything!

13. Hatereview a terrible book.

14. Feel bad.  No author deserves that kind of hatred.

15. Post it anyway.  THE WORLD MUST BURN!

16. Is it too late to go anyway?

17. Yes.

18. Where is all this lint coming from?! Goddamn it!

19. Ice cream.  Lots of it.

20. Reality TV.  My only hope.

Totally with you. I’m not going either and it makes my heart burn with sadness. So…you won’t be alone –I’ll be home drinking and crying into my sock drawer as well.

I demand blog posts about the disordered socks covered in lint! Written in a drunken slur 😛

It would be more fun than the ARC I’m currently reading

Oh man… there’s nothing awesome like BEA’s in Australia. *mutters rudely* We seriously need some epic author events, otherwise we’ll all just be drunken loners to the world. Love this post though, made me crap up laughing ;D

I’m going to have to stay away from #BEA hashtag on twitter, all the feels!

It’s the honest ugliness of my life now.
I think I’m just going to sulk in my bedroom and read a book that wouldn’t feel as good as being at BEA.
I’m just kitten, I’m going to eat a lot of ice cream today.

This is going to be me but what will all those people feel like when they come back and realize the world is burning?
    MUHAHAHAHAHA

    21. Avoid the fuck out of Twitter because it will induce crying fits.

It’s really telling that sockpuppets came to mind at number 2. Rearranging your sockpuppets, huh Kennedy? 😉 I knew it! Either way, I’ll be drinking and eating ice cream with you because I can’t go either.

yep, that about sums up my BEA week…and burn down twitter and instagram because I don’t want to hear OR see it…I’m not bitter!

  9. Bookie565

Lol, yeah, pretty much sums it up. I would love to go to BEA someday, but New York is on the other side of the country. How depressing.

So here’s my idea: Kat and Steph should run a Kickstarter campaign to raise money for travel and accomadations and registration and whatever for BEA 2014. I’ve contributed $$ toward a similar effort in the past so I know it works, especially when people have a legion of adoring followers like you guys do. And maybe you could giveaway some of the ARCs you get as a way of saying thanks. Just think about it before you shoot it down lol.
I’m lucky enough to live in NYC but I will be in another state during BEA 2013. Hopefully I’ll see you guys there next year =)

Ahahaha, yes that will be me this year, next year, and all the years after that until my education is not an issue any more. Sigh. Ah, well reality tv can never be that bad, can it?

I’ve never been to BEA, so it doesn’t bother me as much. But, it must be amazing. Really amazing. Geez, I really want to go someday now. I wish we had awesome book-related events around here, too.
    Love the list.

Thanks for a lot of fun suggestions what to do. I think that all those blogger at BEA whose legs hurt from walking/running from one event to another and whose arms hurt from carrying too many free books are going to be so jealous when I post the picture of my newly reorganised sock drawer. 😉

This exactly omg. I’m so envious of all those people going!!!
I don’t have enough blogposts to effing schedule for a month D: I can barely review in time. Who am I kidding? I’m months behind on ARC reviews 🙁
#8 is one of my favourite past times. YES I SHALL DO THIS!

Hahaha this was hilarious. I’m bookmarking this for reference when everyone goes away to BEA and I’m stuck here at home.
