In Ten Lines

Welcome to In 10 Lines.  Ever wanted to know what happens in a book, but couldn’t be assed reading it for yourself?  Cuddlebuggery comes to the rescue with In 10 Lines.  In 10 Lines we will tell you everything you need to know about the featured book so that you can cheerfully move on with your life, or choose to read it should your attention be piqued.  So sit back, relax, and try not to clench as we proceed.

Today we’ll be reforming Market By P.C. and Kristin Cast for your enjoyment.  It was hard to take such a complicated and well-written book and compress it into ten lines, but Steph and I are nothing but dedicated to our craft for the sake of our readers.

Zoe Redbird:

Holy shitballs! I’m a vampire!  Crap.  Better go to vampire school.

Erik Night:

Yo!  I’m a hot guy at your new school.  Let’s be romantically interested in each other, though I can’t fathom why.

Aphrodite:

I don’t think I’m cool with this.  He’s kind of my boyfriend.

Zoe Redbird:

YOU SHUT YOUR WHORE MOUTH I HOPE YOU DIE!

Group of Assorted Friends:

We love you Zoe. We have no other purpose in life but to love you.

Zoe Redbird:

Why do I have to be so goddamn special?  It’s a curse!  A curse I tell you!

Aphrodite:

That’s my cue to dance in a way you perceive as slutty and bully kids around the school.

Zoe Redbird:

OF COURSE!  You’re evil.  And slutty!  But mostly evil!  I will defeat you!

Aphrodite:

Nooooo! My vague and childish plans for…something have been foiled because of…reasons!

Erik Night:

Yo.  Still here.  Let’s make out.

The End

Yep, that about covers it.  I tried this book, hoping for another great series, but I was disappointed.

The worst part this that with a few name changes, you could recount the whole series with these same ten lines…
    Love this new feature!
(For some reason I can’t see the gifs? I’m running Chrome, but it works fine in Safari?)

RadiantShadowss never mind. It’s sorted itself out. Bah, I hate technology sometimes!

@RadiantShadowss lol! Seriously? I never made it past book 1. It was too painful and juvenile for me.

Hmmm… I could be TOTALL OFF BASE, but is there a bit of bias here?  🙂
I’d like to see you guys do this with an AWESOME book.  Like maybe Angelfall.  It would be cool to see what the 10 lines are.

Haha! Guess I was right in thinking I wasn’t missing much. I got about 5 pages in and dropped it. It’s now lost somewhere on one of my bookshelves. Although I do need paper towels; good substitute possibly?

    hahahahaha…. THIIISSSSS<3 xD
pc cast’s series has never piqued my interest, now I have a reason as to why ! Thanks Kat 😉 LOL

This cracked my shiz up!  I tried so hard with this series, I really did.  Mostly because when it first came out I was living in Oklahoma and hadn’t moved back to the East Coast (which prompted me to become a book blogger, thus leading me to realize that there’s so many fantastic books out there that I don’t need to waste my time on mediocre books), and the authors are two Oklahomans.  But Zoe is such a Mary Sue, and she has had more hookups than Sookie Stackhouse.

If I hadn’t read the book, I’d look at this and think, “nah, they must be exaggerating.” But I have read it, and sadly, you’re not.

  8. My Self Confessions

Haha, wow I’ve been curious about this series for quite awhile – I used to have a friend that was totally in love with them. For some reason I just never got around to reading them and now I’m glad that I didn’t! This sounds like rubbish and just too teeny-bopper for me. 😀
Love this feature, ingenious! 😀 Can’t wait to see what other books you go with in the future. 🙂

haha sounds like another high school drama fest! Except the guy’s feeling ignored! Haven’t tackled this series yet because it’s so long. Definitely look forward to more of this feature in the future! Great job!
