Cover Reveal for Release by M.R. Merrick

28 September, 2012 Cover Reveals 16 comments

Today on Cuddlebuggery, we bring you another cover reveal and another opportunity to see what authors everywhere are missing out on when they don’t hire us to design their covers.  Cuddlebuggery’s patented cover designing system is practically foolproof because of all the science we use.  Lots and lots of science.

So we took our science and applied it to everything we knew about M.R. Merrick’s novel.

Which, admittedly wasn’t much.

See, this is what we’re talking about!  Good, ol’fashioned dress work!  Note the scrolling and little detailing that make this cover exquisite!  Clearly this is a great match for The Protector Series!

Matt says:

“This doesn’t work for two reasons. First, because I don’t put people on my cover. Second, and more importantly, is if this was my cover, that girl would be Rayna and she would never wear something like this. It would be way to hard to kick someone in the face while wearing this dress. Not to mention if Chase saw her in that, she would never hear the end of it…and then she’d have to punch him in the face. Again.”

Okay, so… apparently the protagonist is, like, a dude.  So here we go!  Dude.  Sword.  Badass.  What more could you be looking for in a cover?  I even gave it a kickass tagline!  C’mon!  This has to be good enough!

Matt says:

“If Marcus had hair and looked kind of like an awkward half-woman who loved bondage, this would be perfect. However, Marcus is built like a brick wall, has a shaved head, and is more the diplomatic type. I think he’d wear spandex before leather…actually maybe not. And if Marcus said “Shit Just Got Real,” I think someone (Rayna) would slap him.”

Okay, so blah, blah, blah, the title is important or something.  Well… FINE!  Okay, we’ll you can’t turn down THIS beauty! See, something about a castle and there’s dark clouds which, in the book cover designing world, we call forshadowing.  I’m forshadowing tension.  C’mon!  You can’t turn this stuff down!  It’s brilliant!

Matt says:

“This one could actually work if my book had a stone tower in it that sat idly on the edge of a cliff. The quote at the bottom pretty much sums Chase up, and the landscape looks similar to one that will be “revealed” in the last book of the series. None of my dimensions have a black sun…yet. If you find out that in a later book there is a black sun, it’s a completely original idea on my part and I’ve been thinking about it for a while. In no way could I have stolen the idea from this image you’ve created. Also, do you hire out your services?”

Publication Date: 10th December 2012

After uniting the shifters and calling in reinforcements, Chase has to face his toughest challenge yet: learning to control his emotions. But as tensions rise and his powers grow, controlling his emotions becomes the least of his problems.

Terrorized by a multi-shifter who is hell-bent on turning him, Chase questions just how far he’s willing to go to stop his father. Meanwhile, Tiki’s virtuous nature has placed him in the middle of Vincent’s past, leaving Chase to oppose a senate of vampires and defend a demon he hates.

Trying to balance his friends, his enemies, and his inner demons, Chase is left searching for answers about the Mark, his destiny, and where he can find the next soul piece. Stopping Riley is his top priority, but as more obstacles arise, he finds himself doubting all the decisions he’s made – especially regarding Rayna.

One thing is for certain: Chase has finally realized that he doesn’t know anything. The light doesn’t always quell the darkness, the monsters don’t always stay in the shadows, and the past doesn’t always stay in the past – sometimes, the demons inside are the hardest to fight.

bwhahahahahaha.  Sorry, that just amused me for some reason.
Nice covers, Kat.  The first one just SCREAMS indie.  No offense.  But if you posted it to kindleboards, an author would snatch it up. 🙂

@Kate C. Lol! They’re supposed to be horrifically bad, Kate! No. No one would pick these up cause each one took me like 5 minutes to do!
