Happy 4th of July!

4 July, 2012 Uncategorized 8 comments

To all of our American readers,

Today is the day where we can all sit back and reflect on the day in which we officially became the good old U.S. of A. I’m sure there will be plenty of fireworks going off all night long that’ll be sure to keep my kids up (damn you). Something similar to this:

But not to be confused with this:

But let’s really talk about what the 4th means. It’s a free day off from work where we get to pick up the grill tongs and gorge ourselves on burnt BBQ ALL DAY LONG and not feel the least bit guilty.

It’s also the day to reconnect with that twice removed cousin on your mother’s father’s side of the family. What better way to do that than over a refreshing drink? Perhaps something to put a little hair on the chest.

Let’s face it. Times are tough here in America. There are too few holidays where we can kick back and forget all our problems. So, be safe and enjoy your day off, fellow Americans! Because we all know Thursday is back to the daily grind and business as usual.

I hope that if the fireworks keep you up, then at least they’ll be entertaining. We discovered tonight that the official Nashville fireworks make so much smoke and are set off close enough to the downtown area that with the light flashes from the fireworks themselves, it looks like the city’s on fire. Or that Godzilla is in there somewhere, terrorizing the populace. Happy Fourth!

Omg?! Really? That’s incredible! Thankfully, my neighbors set off their fireworks early and the kids were able to have a good nights rest. 🙂 I hope you had a great day!
